High School Math & Science Teacher – Oxford Learning Ocean Park

Part‑time teaching position in a supplemental education centre located in Surrey, British Columbia. Pay: $18—to $20 per hour.

Position Requirements

All teacher‑tutors work primarily during after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm‑7:00 pm) and some Saturdays (10:00 am‑3:00 pm). A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better. The role is in‑person and requires a local commute. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education
Bachelor’s degree or a similar qualification in a relevant field.
Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
Teaching certification is an asset.
Positive knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 math and science curriculum, including but not limited to Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry and Calculus, and Vectors, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Experience
Some experience teaching or tutoring math at a Grade 9‑12 (or equivalent) level.
Strong English written and oral communication skills.
Excellent math skills and the ability to guide students’ understanding.




Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.

Responsibilities
Teach up to three students at a time at different levels.
Deliver instruction in person (online instructions are not applicable in this role).
Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
Fill in post‑lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates.
Maintain a friendly and qualified manner at all times.
