Posting InformationBusiness Line: Group Retirement ServicesHours per Week: 35Preferred Locations: Ave NW Edmonton, T5S 1J9 - Hybrid SettingDetails: Full-Time, Permanent Position, Current VacancyAbout The RoleThe Senior Retirement Consultant is responsible for growing, servicing and managing a dedicated block of group retirement plan clients, acting as a trusted advisor to plan sponsors and key stakeholders. This role focuses on business development, delivering high quality consulting support, retaining and deepening client relationships, and providing strategic guidance on plan design, governance, provider oversight, and member outcomes.The successful candidate will bring strong sales skills, technical knowledge, excellent relationship management skills, and the ability to proactively identify opportunities to enhance plan effectiveness while ensuring regulatory and best practice compliance.What You'll DoProactively identify current business opportunities and build relationships with quality retirement business leads via referrals and other prospecting techniques (approximately 40% of your time)Meet and/or exceed individual sales targets as well as department goalsServe as the primary consultant and day-to-day relationship manager for an assigned block of group retirement plan clients, ensuring consistent, high quality serviceBuild strong, long term relationships with plan sponsors, committees, and internal stakeholders to support client retention and satisfactionLead annual plan reviews and ongoing touchpoints to assess plan performance, member outcomes, and alignment with client objectivesProactively identify potential risks, service issues, or retention concerns and develop solutions in collaboration with internal teams and vendorsAdvise clients on plan design enhancements, including eligibility, contribution structures, automatic features, investment menu considerations, and member engagement strategiesProvide guidance on plan governance, CAP Guidelines, and applicable federal/provincial legislative and regulatory requirements (federal and provincial)Support clients through plan changes, vendor transitions, or special projects, ensuring a smooth and well communicated experienceManage consulting time and service models to ensure alignment between client needs, compensation, and overall
