Position Overview
As a Teacher‑Tutor at Oxford Learning, you will work with Elementary students in reading, writing, math, and French and/or with High School students in math (through Calculus), physics, chemistry, biology, and English. All lessons are pre‑planned, allowing you to focus on teaching.
Position Requirements
Availability during after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm – 8:00 pm)
Commitment through to the end of the 2026‑27 school year (June 30), with possibility of continuing through summer
In‑person role; must be able to commute to the location; relocation packages not available
Vulnerable sector screening mandatory
Resume must indicate residence within a short commute of North York area
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field
Third‑year university students with tutoring experience considered
Teaching certification in progress or obtained is an asset
Valuable knowledge of K‑12 curriculum
Experience
Some experience teaching/tutoring K‑12 or equivalent level
Robust English written and oral communication skills; ability to guide student understanding
French teaching desired
Ability to multitask with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities
Teach up to three students at a time in Elementary grades or up to two students in Grades 9‑12
Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
Complete daily student communication updates and monthly progress reports
Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor, create fun learning environment
