Part‑Time English & Social Studies Teacher / Tutor – Oxford Learning St. Albert
Employment type: Part‑time
Pay: $17.00 per hour (starting rate).
Location: Oxford Learning, 107‑1 Hebert Road, St. Albert, AB.
In‑person only; relocation packages are not available.
Vulnerability‑sector screening is mandatory.
Position Requirements
All teacher‑tutors work during after‑school and evening hours (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) as well as Saturdays (10:00 am – 3:00 pm). A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better. Students expect reliability.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field; fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
Teaching certification is an asset.
Positive knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum.
Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten‑to‑Grade‑12 (or equivalent) level.
Strong English written and oral communication skills; ability to guide students’ understanding.
Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.
Responsibilities (Position Details)
Teach up to three students at a time at different levels.
Deliver lessons in person (all lessons are pre‑planned).
Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
Fill in post‑lesson notes.
Complete daily student communication updates.
Maintain a friendly and skilled manner at all times.

Evenings: Monday to Friday, 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
