Position Overview

Oxford Learning North York Willowdale is seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors to provide in‑person instruction in math and science for high school students. Pre‑planned lessons are provided; teachers receive full training in the company’s pedagogical philosophy.

Position Requirements
Availability during after‑school and evening hours (3:00 pm – 8:00 pm)
Available for a minimum of 2 evenings per week
Commitment through the end of the 2026‑2027 school year (June 30), with possible summer extension
In‑person instruction required
Must be able to commute to the designated location; relocation packages not available
Mandatory vulnerable sector screening

Education
Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
Teaching certification is an asset
Valuable knowledge of current Grades 9‑12 math and science curriculum, including but not limited to Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, vectors,



physics, chemistry, and biology

Experience
Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at Grades 9‑12 (or equivalent) level
Strong English written and oral communication skills
Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Responsibilities
Teach up to three students simultaneously at different levels
Conduct both online and in‑person sessions
Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
Complete post‑lesson notes
Provide daily student communication updates
Maintain a friendly and qualified manner at all times
