Automotive Journeyman Technician, Tumbler Ridge, BC (Rotation Option)
We are looking for an experienced Automotive Journeyman Technician to join our client's growing team in Tumbler Ridge, BC.
This is a full-time position working on a diverse fleet of gas and diesel vehicles and equipment.
Rotational opportunities and accommodations (crew house) are available for qualified candidates who do not live in Tumbler Ridge.
Compensation
- $48.00–$54.00 per hour
- Straight-time pay
- Full-time, permanent opportunity
- Rotational opportunities available (no paid travel)
- Accommodations available for qualified rotational employees
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain fleet vehicles and equipment
- Work on gas and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment
- Perform scheduled maintenance and general mechanical repairs
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems
- Use computerized diagnostic and testing equipment
- Inspect and test vehicles to identify required repairs
- Perform road tests and other testing after repairs
- Repair and maintain light- and heavy-duty units
- Complete pressure testing and system adjustments when required
- Perform basic welding and cutting as needed
- Ensure tools, parts and supplies are available for assigned jobs
- Complete service reports and equipment documentation
- Follow company safety policies and procedures
- Follow provincial and federal safety regulations
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Perform other mechanical duties as required
Qualifications
- Journeyman Automotive Technician required
- Red Seal certification required (if not from British Columbia)
- Minimum3 years of automotive repair experience
- Ford training or certification is an asset
- Solid diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with computerized diagnostic equipment
- Experience working on gas and diesel engines
- Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems
- Experience with construction or heavy equipment is an asset
- Welding and cutting experience is an asset
- Must have at least a validClass 5 Driver's Licence
- Class 3 Driver's Licence is preferred
- CVIP licence is preferred
- Able to perform the physical requirements of the position
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Willing to work after hours when required
