Under the direct supervision of the portfolio Councillor, the Band Manager will work with the Chief and Council to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Shoal Lake Cree Nation.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Supervising all program Directors for Shoal Lake Cree Nation.
- Overseeing all programs and services, budgets, personnel, and activities of the First Nation
- Responsible for developing, recommending, and implementing approved strategies, policies, and business plans.
- Establishing effective relationships with the membership
- Collaborating effectively with outside organizations to develop and enhance governance, financial, and administrative management (i.e., ISC, FNIHB, CMHC, etc.)
- Attending all Council Meetings and implementing their motions and resolutions ( as requested)
- Managing all aspects of the Band Office Administration
Qualifications:
- Solid knowledge of First Nation’s Issues
- Post-Secondary training in business, administration, management, accounting, or finance with related administrative experience
- At least five years of increasingly responsible managerial/administrative experience working with a First Nation organization
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to formulate and administer programs
