Position OverviewWe are recruiting for the I’Y, I, ȻEN (“Person with a Kind Mind”) position, within the Culturally Aligned Integrated Support (CAIS) team. This is a temporary position.The I’Y, I, ȻEN plays an important role in ACEH’s work to prevent and reduce homelessness among First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. For work at unionised locations, a deduction of 1.85% for union dues will be applied to pay per pay period and remitted to the Union.Job SummaryThe I’Y, I, ȻEN position supports ACEH Family Members in all aspects of wellness—including food security, community health, culture, family, and housing—to prevent and reduce homelessness.



The role serves over 100 Indigenous peoples and contributes to developing a model of culturally informed, wrap‑around services for communities across B.C.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild caring and reciprocal relationships with Family Members supported by CAIS and across the organization.Establish personal goals with Family Members and celebrate life achievements.Provide cultural and family reunification support, including home community visits for ceremonies and celebrations.Support connections to healthy and cultural foods.Lead ongoing case management to ensure integrated care for Family Members.Connect Family Members with community resources aligning with their priorities and goals.Assist with obtaining IDs, status card renewals, citizenship cards, etc.Provide housing transition support, including home visits, moving assistance, community familiarisation, and account set‑up.Connect Family Members with appropriate cultural supports.Attend land‑based healing events and support delivery under the direction of the Land‑Based Healing Manager.Support weekly life skills, cultural, recreational, and social programming for Family Members.Aid in community building initiatives,



including lunches and appreciation events.Assist Cultural Mentors and facilitators with drop‑in and after‑hours programs.Coordinate efforts to involve Family Members in community events.Participate in all CAIS team meetings.Support conflict resolution between Family Members using de‑escalation and non‑crisis intervention strategies.Actively use and update the CAMS Case Management Software for care and program evaluation.Support data gathering and produce recommendations for ongoing program development and improvement.Qualifications and Education, and ExperienceExperience or personal insights into working cooperatively and non‑judgmentally with people with disabilities, lived experiences, and addictions.Experience working with Indigenous peoples and marginalised populations.Experience with non‑profit organisations, family support, social services, and/or chronic homelessness is an asset.Experience in coordinating events and community engagement activities.Current First Aid and CPR certifications are required.Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and access to a reliable car is required.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesProgressive understanding of persistent mental illness, addictions, and other challenges impacting overall health and well‑being.Ability to work holistically, professionally, and non‑judgmentally with diverse personalities, needs, cultures, lived experiences, and abilities.Ability to effectively respond and adjust to unexpected events, assess high‑risk situations, problem‑solve, provide crisis intervention, and manage conflict in a culturally supportive manner.Ability to work independently and manage competing demands while adhering to deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.Effective written and verbal communication skills to facilitate collaborative practice, culturally safe environments, and a respectful workplace.Demonstrated understanding of intergenerational trauma from colonization, Residential Schools, the Sixties Scoop, and other oppressive systems, and the history of Indigenous peoples in Canada.We encourage members of the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community to apply.#J-18808-Ljbffr
