The Salvation Army is looking for a Cleaner who can uphold cleanliness and comfort for clients and staff at our Halifax location. With duties spanning across the fourth and fifth floors, the role demands individuals proficient in cleaning, laundry, and general maintenance. You will support a compassionate mission while ensuring adherence to our high standards for cleanliness and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Clean and maintain washrooms and common areas
• Launder bed linens and towels regularly
• Sweep and mop main floors and stairways daily
• Maintain chapel and elevator cleanliness weekly
• Inventory and distribute cleaning supplies as needed
Requirements:
• High school graduation preferred
• Experience of 1-3 years in janitorial services
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds
• Crisis intervention and First Aid certification preferred
• Knowledge of WHMIS protocols
