(geosoftware.Com)TheSoftware Testerplays a critical role in ensuring the quality and performance of GeoSoftware applications. Working within an Agile development workplace, the testeris responsible fordeveloping test plans and test cases, coordinating testing efforts, andvalidatingnew functionality through structured test execution. The role involves close collaboration with developers and product owners to verify defect resolutions,identifyusability concerns, and communicate potential risks early in the development cycle. The tester advocates for the end-user experience and contributes to continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.Main tasks, Duties and ResponsibilitiesTesting & Quality AssuranceDevelop andmaintaintest documentation including strategies, plans, and casesDesign and execute functional and automated test casesIdentify, log, and track software defectsCreate and manage test data for various testing scenariosAnalyze incomplete or ambiguous requirements to ensure test coverageProvideaccuratetest effort estimates and timelinesReview and improve test artifacts for quality and completenessParticipate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and deliverablesAdhere to and help evolve testing standards and best practicesLeadership & CommunicationCollaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, and Product ManagersCommunicate improvements for testing processes and development workflowsFoster a positive team environment and influence team dynamics constructivelyChampion customer needs and advocate for high product qualityCritical Thinking & Problem SolvingGrasp complex technical systems and workflowsPrioritize tasks efficiently amidst competing demandsServe as a go-to resource for testing-related investigations and queriesIdentifypotential testing risks and communicate them proactivelyRecommend and implement solutions for continuous process improvementTechnical SkillsBasic Coding experience in any languageExperience with test and bug tracking systems (e.G., Jira)Familiarity with Windows and Linux OSExperience in desktop application testingSoft SkillsStrong English communication (written and verbal)Ability to communicate across organizational levelsProblem-solving and adaptabilityTeamwork and relationship-buildingCreativity and time managementAttention to detail and professionalismQualifications & RequirementsRequired:Bachelor's degree in Geophysics or Geoscience related field.2 years of experience in software testing or QAExperience with manual testing methodologies and exposure to QA Process and toolsIT background or computer proficiencyKnowledge of geoscience software (e.G., HampsonRussell, Jason, Petrel, Halliburton, IKON)Salary and BenefitsCompetitive salary and annual performance‑based bonus.Hybrid work flexibility, with the ability to work from home 2–3 days per week.TravelOccasional travel may berequiredto GeoSoftware locations for conferences, training sessions, or team collaboration activities.
