Make a Difference: Career at STRABAG WatertechnologyYour contribution to our companyPosition SummaryThe Concrete Superintendent is responsible for planning,coordinating, and supervising all concrete-related construction activities onassigned projects. This role ensures work is executed safely, efficiently, andin accordance with contract documents, quality standards, and productiontargets. The Concrete Superintendent provides leadership to field crews,manages subcontractors, and works closely with project management to maintainschedule and budget performance.Key ResponsibilitiesField Operations & ExecutionPlan, coordinate, andsupervise all concrete operations including formwork, reinforcing steel,embedded items, shotcrete (where applicable), placement, finishing, andcuring.Develop and implementdaily and weekly work plans aligned with the overall project schedule.Oversee structuralconcrete works (foundations, slabs, walls, columns, suspended slabs,retaining structures, civil structures,



etc.).Ensure proper sequencingof activities to maintain productivity and minimize rework.Coordinate concretepours, including logistics, pump placement, testing, inspection, andquality control.Safety LeadershipPromote and enforce astrong safety culture on site.Conduct daily tailboardsand hazard assessments.Ensure compliance withprovincial safety legislation (e.G., OHSA in Ontario) and company safetyprograms.Identify and mitigatehigh-risk activities such as suspended slabs, high-formwork systems, andconfined spaces.Quality ControlEnsure compliance withproject specifications, drawings, and tolerances.Coordinate inspectionsand testing (slump tests, air content, compressive strength cylinders).Review and implementInspection & Test Plans (ITPs).Address deficienciespromptly and implement corrective measures.Schedule & Productivity ManagementMonitor concreteproductivity against budgeted production rates.Identify and resolvebottlenecks affecting schedule.Provide input intoshort-interval planning and lookahead schedules (2–6 weeks).Track and report actualvs. planned performance.Supervise forepersons,crews, and subcontractors.Coordinate withengineering, procurement, and project controls teams.Attend coordination andprogress meetings with clients and consultants.Manage equipmentrequirements including pumps, cranes, vibrators, finishing equipment.Ensure adequate manpowerand tools are available to meet schedule commitments.Pre-employment screeningis required for this position.
