The role ensures safe and efficient airport flow while mitigating operational risk.Participate in planning and coordination sessions related to the annual capital construction program in advance of the construction season.Assess, develop and coordinate airside construction plans through pre‑planning sessions with GTAA departments, NAV Canada, airlines and other airport community members.Co‑ordinate all airside activities related to planned construction, routine maintenance and ad‑hoc/special event requests through the Airside Activity Program (AAP).Support day‑of staff with airside coordination activities and emergency closure requirements.Generate Notices‑to‑Airmen (NOTAMs) and Voice NOTAMs (VN) for non‑day‑of activities.Monitor airside coordination, crane and RPAS inboxes.Assess airside coordination, crane and RPAS requests to determine operational and system impacts.Develop and issue airside activity permits using MAXIMO (RMAX) software.Chair the weekly Airside Activity Coordination meeting, completing closure maps and distributing minutes.Assist in chairing the Monthly Airline Coordination Meeting.Support projects through planning, execution, monitoring, and close‑out phases—including reviewing design and phasing drawings,



developing plans of operation, attending project meetings, and monitoring processes for safety, compliance and operational integrity.Conduct technical assessments and prepare drawings using CAD/Microstation software.Review and approve crane permit applications in line with obstacle limitation surfaces and TP312 requirements.Plan, modify and update aircraft stands and apron taxi lanes to ensure safe, compliant operations.Design ad‑hoc parking plans and assess non‑standard aircraft movements.Develop the Plan of Construction Operations (PCO) document and Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) for Capital Rehabilitation Projects.Compensation and EligibilityThis unionised position is classified at Band8, with an hourly wage of $51.51 based on a 37.5‑hour work week.Minimum ten (10) years of experience in airport or airline operations.Experience in Apron Advisory, ATC, Flight Service Specialist, Flight Dispatch or flying is a distinct asset.Experience with civil construction activities or any airside technical activity is a distinct asset.Valid provincial G‑Class driver’s licence.Must possess a D/AVOP permit or be able to obtain one within 30days.Must possess an Aeronautical Radio licence.Post‑secondary diploma or degree in Aviation, Engineering or Business, or 10years of equivalent experience.Project Management Professional designation is an asset.Hold and retain a Transportation Security clearance.Knowledge and SkillsInterpret and apply regulations and procedures impacting airside operations (Aeronautics Act, CARS, TP312, ICAO Annexes, GTAA guidelines, NAV Canada practices, low‑visibility procedures,



surface movement control).Understand architectural and civil planning and design activities.Knowledge of aircraft planning and characteristics manual.Understand procurement processes and bid proposal reviews.Knowledge of construction activities and processes.Understand Project Management life‑cycle and sequencing of activities.Interpret and develop project schedules in MS Project or equivalent.Solid understanding of gate design, gate mix charts, adjacency rules and stop‑line placards.Apply investigative and inspection techniques to facilitate safe aircraft movements.Familiarity with partner emergency and operational procedures across airlines, ATC and airport operations.Knowledge of airside activities and related operating systems (visual aids, A‑VDGS, ground service equipment, passenger boarding bridges).Read complex drawings and apply airport operational knowledge to mitigate safety or operational concerns.Demonstrate operational flows and constraints to optimise construction activities.Apply safety management systems, GTAA policies and procedures.Detailed knowledge of Toronto Pearson International Airport topography and apron/layout rules.Analyse operational situations and make decisions, including runway and taxiway closures.Conduct meetings to provide updates on all coordination activities.Apply knowledge of aircraft dimension, capacity and turning radius for commonly used aircraft.Operate the Airside Activity Program daily.Adapt GTAA programmes, systems and methods to develop mitigation solutions.Manage inter‑relationships across internal GTAA teams and external partners (NAV Canada, Transport Canada, contractors).Proficiency in CAD applications (AutoCAD or Microstation).Write and interpret NOTAMs; produce technicalaeronautical reports, operational plans and standard operating procedures.Develop and deliver training programmes for internal and external partners.Apply airfield/apron design knowledge.Learn about drone operations and their regulatory framework.The GTAA is committed to Employment Equity and maintaining a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.#J-18808-Ljbffr
