Position Overview

French Teacher/Tutor Wanted – Oxford Learning Edmonton Windermere, Edmonton, Alberta. Employment type: Part‑time. Pay: $18.00 per hour.

Position Requirements
After‑school and evening hours (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and some Saturdays (10:00 am – 3:00 pm). Preference for commitment until the end of the school year and through summer.
Solid background in spoken and written French and English. Ability to teach up to Grade 9 level; Grade 12 preferred. Instruction must be in French.
In‑person position; commutable to Edmonton. No relocation packages available.
Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education
Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience considered.
Teaching certification an asset.
Valuable knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 French core curriculum.

Experience
Some experience teaching/tutoring French at Grade 9‑12 (or equivalent) level.




Robust English written and oral communication skills.
Strong French skills and ability to guide student understanding.
Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.

Responsibilities
Teach up to three students at a time at different levels.
Conduct sessions in French (in‑person, teaching online not applicable).
Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
Fill in post‑lesson notes.
Complete daily student communication updates.
Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.
