This group provides consulting services for Class Environmental Assessment, Preliminary Design, and Detail Design projects for public sector clients, including the Ministry of Transportation Ontario and several Ontario Southwest/GTA municipalities.Your Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Transportation Engineer, you will be responsible for the leading and assisting municipal transportation design projects for clients across Ontario. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Directing roadway design staff, and managing multi-discipline project teams- Financial management of projects including budget forecasting, resource management, change-order management, and client invoicing- Developing proposals, budgets and schedules, and on-going business development and liaison with clients- Collaborating with Transportation Leaders and other Project Managers to identify staffing, equipment, and training requirements- Supporting the Stantec Quality Management System,



and promoting Stantec’s Environmental Health & Safety program- Ensuring that the required functions of the project are satisfactorily performed- Developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations- Building a strong culture of quality design and teamwork- Clients may be both internal and external to Stantec- Other duties as assigned/requiredYour Capabilities and CredentialsThe ideal candidate will also have the following additional skills and qualifications:- Strong leadership, negotiation, communication and customer relationship skills are essential- Experienced in AutoCAD, Microstation and OpenRoads or Civil 3D software will set you apart from your peer group- Experienced in report and proposal writing- Experienced roadway designEducation and Experience- University or college degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in the field of road design and construction- Qualified Engineer (P.Eng. or LEL) is required- Minimum of five (5) years demonstrated experience with project management or engineering design responsibilitiesTypical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
