Position OverviewUnder the general supervision of the Manager of Health Services, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing qualified practical nursing services to designated patients. This includes independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, collaboration and interaction within the healthcare team, and participation in the coordination of patient care and discharge. The candidate demonstrates a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the region/facility/unit.Qualifications & SkillsGraduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program.Certification in IV Therapy and IV Medication Administration.Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).CPR training in accordance with Employer policy.Knowledge of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics, Scope of Practice, regional policies, nursing care knowledge, PHIA, Protection of Persons in Care Act, Mental Health Act, WHMIS, and other legislated acts.Effective oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.Ability to prioritize care for individual patients or groups of patients.Ability to delegate care appropriately and monitor outcomes.Ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands.Ability to recognize and pursue self‑development opportunities.Ability to perform independently and as a member of the healthcare team.Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.Ability to maintain concentration with frequent interruptions.Ability to function in a demanding and stressful environment.Proficiency with computers, software programs,



and applications such as Windows and Word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.Preference for candidates competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledgeable about Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.Physical RequirementsModerate to heavy physical effort required.Rotating shifts and weekends may be required.Additional InformationSalary ranges from $34,573 to $43,534 annually, based on experience and qualifications.Pensionable Salary Enhancement: Nurses in eligible classifications may earn an additional $5.95 per hour when working full‑time hours within a prescribed six‑month reporting period (Effective April 1, 2025 – March 31, 2027).This term position may end earlier as outlined in the collective agreement.Requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check.
