Lightmatter is searching for a Staff Engineer to enhance its Laser Systems Architecture & Engineering team. This role focuses on end-to-end simulation and laboratory validation of photonic-electronic links. You will combine expertise in photonic simulation and high-speed electro-optic lab work to analyze and refine system performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance photonic-electronic link simulation models - Execute Monte Carlo studies and corner analyses for link margin - Collaborate with designers to optimize transmitter-receiver interfaces - Contribute to optical link budgets and performance metrics - Author protocols and iterate models against lab measurements
Requirements: - PhD in Engineering or Physics with 5+ years of experience - Proficiency in photonic simulation tools such as VPI Photonics - Hands-on experience in high-speed optical circuit measurements - Solid communication skills for cooperative projects - Familiarity with SERDES and mixed-signal designs
