Enhance animal health at the Calgary Zoo as a full-time Associate Veterinarian. Lead daily clinical care, surgeries, and pathology to support diverse species in our facility.

The Wilder Institute’s Calgary Zoo is looking for a permanent Associate Veterinarian with a solid background in zoological medicine. This role requires at least three years of experience and ideally completion of an internship or residency in the field. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in teams are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily clinical health activities for zoo animals
• Perform surgeries and conduct pathology evaluations
• Collaborate with the Animal Health and Welfare team




• Contribute to emergency response efforts as needed
• Maintain excellent communication with management and guests

Requirements:
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with Alberta licensure
• Minimum of three years in zoological medicine
• Board certification by ACZM or eligibility
• Solid interpersonal and judgment skills
• Ability to effectively manage emergency situations
