About the Role Our client is seeking a visionary Lead Data Scientist to spearhead their efforts in Genomics and Precision Medicine , working entirely remotely. This critical role involves leveraging advanced machine learning techniques and statistical analysis to derive actionable insights from vast genomic datasets. You will guide a team of data scientists and collaborate closely with bioinformaticians, geneticists, and clinicians to advance personalized treatment strategies. The ideal candidate is a seasoned data scientist with a passion for applying data-driven approaches to solve complex biological problems and a proven ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members in a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities Lead the development and application of machine learning models and statistical methods for analyzing large-scale genomic and clinical datasets.
Design and implement data mining strategies to identify patterns, biomarkers, and predictive signatures for disease progression and treatment response.
Collaborate with domain experts to translate biological and clinical questions into data science problems.
Mentor and guide a team of data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
Develop and maintain robust data pipelines and workflows for reproducible analysis.
Communicate complex analytical findings and strategic recommendations to stakeholders across the organization.
Requirements PhD or MSc in Data Science , Computer Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field.
10+ years of progressive experience in data science, with a significant focus on genomics, bioinformatics, or precision medicine.
Expertise in machine learning algorithms (e.g., deep learning, supervised/unsupervised learning), statistical modeling, and programming (Python, R).
Proven experience with large-scale data management and analysis platforms (e.g., cloud computing, distributed systems).
Strong leadership and project management skills, with a track record of successfully delivering data-driven solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote, multidisciplinary team.
