Your Prospect: AHS is looking for an Associate physician to work at Red Deer Regional Hospital,Central Corridor. This is an alternate physician provider role in which thesuccessful candidate will work with a limited medical license issued from theCollege of Physician and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA). The incumbent will workwithin the Urology Department under the direction of an attending physician andwithin a multidisciplinary team setting to deliver acute patient care.
Description We are currently hiring an Associate Physician position to support the Red DeerRegional Hospital Centre Urology Department. This position represents anopportunity created for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) to be selectedand prepared for work as Associate Physicians in clinical departments. IMGs arelanded immigrants, Canadian citizens and/or have employment authorization fromthe Canadian government and fulfill the program requirements. Applicants musthave been successfully pre-screened through the Provincial CA Screening programprior to applying.

Required Qualifications Applicant must be either a landed immigrant (Permanent Resident) or a CanadianCitizen at the time of application. Applicants must be a graduate of a medicalschool located outside of Canada and the United States, listed in the Foundationof Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER)International Medical Directory (IMED). Experience in an acute hospital basedcare facility within the last 3 years. Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME):Must have completed a recognized orthopedic or general surgery residency programwith a successful completion of an existing board exam. Medical Council ofCanada Qualifying Examination Part I (MCCQE1): Applicants must have passed theMCC Qualifying Examination Part 1 prior to application. English LanguageProficiency: As a requirement for licensure by the College of Physicians andSurgeons of Alberta (CPSA), applicants must have taken the International EnglishLanguage Testing System (IELTS) in Canada with minimum required scores of 7.0 ineach of the components within 24 months prior to registration.
Additional Required Qualifications As Required.
Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to applicants who have had active acute care surgicalexperience within the last 3 years.
