Job Description What is the opportunity By joining the Strategy function within Commercial Banking Chief Operating Officer’s (COO) team, you will have the opportunity to help shape strategy and support execution in some of the highest priority areas for the business.
In this highly dynamic role, your work will span across multiple files in three broad domains:
Strategic projects: Execute select strategy projects that address some of highest priorities for the business at a rapid pace across a broad waterfront of areas
Strategic planning & performance management: Help set priorities and goals for Commercial Banking, and contribute to managing performance towards these priorities
Insights & Innovation: Help the business stay ahead of the curve on competitive and technological change - gathering insights and translating into tangible business action
The Commercial Banking COO team serves as a key horizontal across the business, providing an excellent platform from which to drive impact. You will have the opportunity to partner closely with and learn from teams across the business including Product, Distribution, Risk and Finance.
This role works in the office 4 days a week.
What will you do Strategic projects Own workstreams within strategy projects
Lead project management
Gather and analyze data to uncover actionable insights
Develop communication materials e.g., PPT decks, memos etc.
Strategic planning & performance management Support strategic planning and goal-setting processes
Support performance management processes, especially those related to financial quarter-end
Partner closely with the Finance and Transformation teams on joint exercises
Insights & Innovation Establish and implement mechanisms to gather insights and data on key topics
Lead targeted research and analysis sprints
Engage with subject-matter experts across the bank and help articulate 'house views'
Develop collateral / products to communicate insights to a variety of audiences across platforms,
including senior executives e.g., briefing memos
Establish and maintain a repository / knowledge hub for access to the team’s insights and data
What do you need to succeed? Must have 3+ years of experience either in management consulting or in an internal corporate strategy team,
Desire to work in a fast-paced workplace, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to deliver on multiple fronts simultaneously
Strong intellectual curiosity of topics impacting the future of Commercial Banking in Canada
Proven research skills, including data analysis and visualization
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Nice-to-have Experience developing financial models to inform business casing
Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools for research and analysis
