We are looking to onboard independent owner-operators to join our team in support of the Carrier’s transportation needs to serve its customers. The owner-operator will be granted the option to operate under the Carrier’s National Safety Code and Fleet Insurance Program.
Business Opportunity
We wish to partner with an independent incorporated business to provide a current model truck and qualified operator to provide linehaul owner-operator servicesprimarily on the Dempster Highway from Whitehorse to Inuvik.
The Services require business flexibility but are generally required over 5 days/nights, including some weekends. Operational flexibility is a must.
The qualified operator is responsible for meeting all regulatory requirements, including pre- and post-trip equipment checks, and may include delivering periodic dock services to load and unload freight as required.
Operate within the standards and requirements as outlined in the services contract.
The Business must provide WCB Coverage to its Operators

Ensure safe and timely delivery of cargo while adhering to all transportation regulations and company policies
Accurately complete and maintain all required documentation,
including logbooks, inspection reports, and delivery receipts
Navigate challenging road conditions, including gravel roads, ice roads, and mountain passes
Manage load securement and weight distribution to ensure safe transport
Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other drivers using various communication tools
Perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting as needed
Adapt to changing weather conditions and adjust driving techniques accordingly
Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate varying delivery demands and potential delays
Assist with loading and unloading cargo using equipment such as forklifts when necessary
Adhere to all safety protocols and participate in ongoing safety training
Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients and the public
Stay informed about road conditions, construction, and potential hazards along the route
Maintain a clean and organized truck cabin and cargo area
This is a full time position based in Whitehorse, requiring flexible availability and the ability to be away from home for extended periods.
Operator Qualifications:
Class 1 License
5 years of mountain experience
Off-road experience is a major asset
Must be able to provide a criminal record check, driver's abstract, and 2 work-related references.
