CIMA+ is expanding its presence in Edmonton to support a growing portfolio of projects throughout Alberta. Our Buildings team is actively involved in healthcare, post-secondary, municipal, infrastructure, and commercial developments across the region.

CIMA+ is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our Buildings team in Edmonton. In this role, you will contribute to the design and delivery of electrical systems for a wide variety of building projects across Alberta. You will work closely with engineers, technologists, and other disciplines to deliver high-quality engineering solutions while supporting the continued growth of CIMA+'s local presence in the region.
This role offers a balance of technical design, project coordination, and field engagement, including site visits and construction support for projects throughout Alberta. You will have the opportunity to take part in our hybrid work model that includes adaptable work hours, working from home and in our Edmonton AB office.
Primary Responsibilities Design and develop electrical systems for buildings including lighting, power distribution, communications, security, and fire alarm systems
Prepare electrical designs, drawings, and models using Revit and AutoCAD
Perform electrical design calculations and assist with equipment selection and system layouts
Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplines
Conduct site visits and field investigations to review existing conditions and support construction activities
Participate in project meetings and collaborate with clients, contractors, and project teams
Support proposal preparation and contribute to project planning activities
Continued professional development through participation in internal and external learning opportunities
Assist in mentoring junior staff and contributing to the development of the local engineering team
Directly engage with clients to understand project needs and maintain strong business relationships
Contribute to the continued growth of the Edmonton Buildings practice
Requirements Eligible for membership with APEGA - P.Eng. or P.L.Eng.
Over 6 years' experience in electrical engineering in the buildings sector
Demonstrate a commitment to client service that is second to none
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is required
Valid Canadian driver's license with access to transportation for site reviews and inspections
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) in the English language
Experience mentoring junior technical staff is an asset
