Job Overview
We are looking for an individual to join the team as a CNC Machine Programmer/Operator. This person will be responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and on-time deliveries. This person will ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency as well as ensure output meet production schedules, safety and quality standards, and meet customer needs. The best person for this position will have experience in a similar environment and have the ability to execute corporate objectives and troubleshooting problems effectively.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and on time deliveries

Ensure output meets production schedules, safety and quality standards, as well as customer needs





Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining, adjust machine, controls and control media within required capabilities to ensure quality of production. Follow manufacturing and processing procedures, set machines or equipment controls, carry out production and inspection processes perform daily maintenance and safety checks on all equipment and tools

Ensure proper use of PPE at all times

Communicate with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality, and other personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues

Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance

Troubleshoot machine issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain production flow

Running Honing Machines (Makino and Mori machines)

Visually or mechanically inspect parts for defects (cracks, chips, dimension, surface finish) as part of in-process inspection; records result and notifies lead supervisor of deviation as appropriate

Comfortable to use the following for measuring and inspection; various types of micrometers, calipers, height gauge, thread gauge and other tools

Required to perform some simple machine preventative maintenance functions (ie. Checking coolants, lubricants and changing filters)

Set up and operate manual and/or CNC milling machines, lathes, horizontal boring machines

Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

5 years of experience in production, manufacturing, or warehouse setting

Minimum 2 years of CNC Programming experience necessary

Core Competencies

Strong organizational and communication skills

Must be able to multitask

Strong attention to detail

Ability to use a variety of hand and measuring tools

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a safe manner





Ability to work productively in a team and independently

Preferences

Trade certification (Licenced Machinist) is an asset, but not required

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
This position will be based at our facility in Barrie, ON, with no anticipated travel.
