As a Senior Backend Engineer focused on authentication, you'll design and implement features for GitLab's Rails monolith and GATE. This role requires proficiency in Go and Ruby, along with experience in authentication systems, to ensure robust identity access management and vulnerability mitigation. Collaborate closely with the Authentication team to influence GitLab's roadmap and secure user experiences across various deployment models.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement authentication features across Rails and GATE
• Migrate authentication paths from monolith to GATE
• Develop new authentication mechanisms from the ground up
• Improve security posture through access management
• Collaborate on larger projects to build out GATE
Requirements:
• Qualified experience with Go and/or Ruby
• Familiarity with OAuth, SAML, and SCIM technologies
• Knowledge of token systems and cryptographic signing
• Experience in agile software development
• Strong communication skills in English
