About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced Livestock Manager to oversee all aspects of dairy farm operations in the Kimberley region. This crucial role involves managing the health, welfare, and productivity of the dairy herd, supervising farm staff, and ensuring the effective operation of the dairy unit. You will be responsible for implementing best practices in animal husbandry , milk production, and herd management to maximize output and maintain high standards. This position offers a hands‑on leadership opportunity within a key agricultural sector of the Northern Cape , contributing significantly to the dairy industry.
Key Responsibilities Manage the daily care, feeding, and health monitoring of the dairy herd.
Supervise milking operations and ensure adherence to strict hygiene and quality standards.
Implement breeding programs and monitor herd reproductive health.
Oversee the procurement and management of feed, ensuring optimal nutrition for the herd.
Manage and train farmhands and herdspersons, ensuring efficient operations.
Maintain detailed records on herd performance, health,



milk production, and breeding.
Ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations and best practices in dairy farming .
Requirements Significant experience in dairy farm management or livestock management.
In-depth knowledge of animal husbandry , dairy nutrition, and reproductive physiology.
Experience with modern milking systems and dairy herd management software.
Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions regarding herd health and management.
