Administration and Finance Marine Institute
(2 Year Contractual Position)

DUTIES

Reporting to the Team Lead – Financial Operations, the successful applicant will be responsible to facilitate and coordinate procurement of goods and services for the Marine Institute. Duties include preparing open call for bids (tenders), obtaining prices/quotations, preparing purchase orders, reviewing purchase contracts, assisting with the technical specifications for, and management of, the competitive procurement process, liaising with Strategic Procurement ensuring Policies and Procedures related to the University Purchasing Policy and Public Procurement Act are adhered to; preparing independent contractor agreements, and other procurement related service agreements; creating, monitoring, and administering standing offers, blanket orders and open call purchase orders; preparing reconciliations; and performing other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (3-5 years) working in procurement; graduation from a diploma program in business administration or other related field; an equivalent combination of experience and training may also be considered. Strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of computers and proficiency in data entry are required. Knowledge of the Banner Finance System, experience in public purchasing and possession of, or work towards, the Purchasing Management Association of Canada’s SCMP designation, previously the Certified Professional Purchaser (CPP) are assets.

SALARY $56,767 to $66,592 per annum (NAPE 7850)
