About the Role Our client is seeking a dedicated Research Scientist with a specialization in biochemistry to join their innovative research team in Kimberley . This role involves exploring complex biological pathways and elucidating the function of key proteins and enzymes relevant to disease mechanisms. You will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the discovery of novel therapeutic targets. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in biochemical techniques and a passion for unraveling the molecular intricacies of biological systems in a research-focused setting.
Key Responsibilities Design and execute biochemical and molecular biology experiments to investigate protein function, enzyme kinetics, and signaling pathways.
Purify and characterize proteins using techniques such as chromatography and electrophoresis.
Develop and validate biochemical assays for high-throughput screening and mechanistic studies.
Analyze and interpret experimental data, present findings clearly, and contribute to scientific publications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams,
including computational biologists and pharmacologists.
Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and adhere to safety protocols and experimental best practices.
Requirements PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related life science field.
Minimum of 4 years of postdoctoral or relevant industry research experience.
Extensive experience with biochemical assay development, enzyme kinetics, and protein purification.
Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as cloning, PCR, and Western blotting.
Experience with data analysis software and scientific visualization tools.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment in Kimberley .
