Thrive Freeze Dry, a rapidly growing freeze-dried manufacturing company is recruiting for a detailed oriented and organized Ammonia Certified Technician for our office in Langley BC reporting to the Maintenance Manager. This opportunity is for the night shift and follows a 12-hour rotational schedule.
Key Responsibilities: Inspection and daily maintenance of all equipment (Freeze Dry System & others)
Measure and troubleshoot temperature, pressure, and fuel flow, detect leaks or other equipment failures
Ensure the system start-up and shutdown operations are maintained
Implement corrective actions and minor repairs to prevent equipment or system failure
Manage the daily lubrications and other daily equipment tasks
Manage the workspace to be clear and clean after repairs
Complete all daily, weekly or monthly reporting as required
Assist in the development of operation, maintenance and safety procedures
In the absence of,
the ammonia lead serves as back up to this position to ensure all food safety, quality objectives and SQF system requirements are met.
Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications: 4th Class Power Engineering Certification is a must
Minimum two years of experience in ammonia or freon refrigeration operation or power engineering within a manufacturing workplace.
Proficient in electrical and mechanical maintenance, applying knowledge and skills on a daily basis.
Strong awareness of safety protocols and the ability to perform duties in compliance with legislated safety requirements.
Knowledge of Word and Excel
Capable of performing physical tasks, such as lifting at least 50 lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting.
Comfortable working in temperature-controlled, refrigerated, or chilled environments.
