Support Valard Construction’s safety initiatives as a Field Safety Advisor based in Port Hawkesbury, NS. Ensure compliance and best practices are upheld in office through direct engagement and supervision.

In this field-based position, you will work a shift of 14 days on and 7 days off. You will support supervisors, foremen, and workers in applying safety practices according to Valard’s Site Safety Management Plan. Your expertise in safety protocols will enhance the workplace environment, ensuring adherence to safety standards throughout construction activities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Be a visible safety presence on-site for all personnel
• Coach field staff to meet safety expectations daily




• Assist in investigating incidents for root causes
• Review daily tailboards to address hazards
• Facilitate and document safety meetings and reports

Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in relevant field
• 5 years of experience in construction site safety
• NCSO or CRST certification required
• Valid driver’s license with abstract for review
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
