Join Fisheries and Oceans Canada as a Detachment Supervisor for the Conservation and Protection program in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Oversee enforcement operations and lead a dedicated team of Fishery Officers.
This PM-05 level position is pivotal in managing key aspects of Conservation and Protection within the Ontario and Prairie Region. You will partner with internal and external stakeholders while ensuring compliance and program effectiveness. Your leadership will be crucial in enforcing conservation legislation and programs tailored to the diverse needs across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and the Northwest Territories.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage a team of Fishery Officers
• Develop and oversee compliance programs within the region
• Build relationships with Indigenous and governmental organizations
• Ensure legislation enforcement in marine and freshwater environments
• Conduct risk assessments and report findings to senior management
Requirements:
• Secondary school diploma or equivalent
• Experience managing human resources and overseeing operations
• Proven records in compliance program development and execution
• Significant law enforcement experience within natural resources
• Valid driver's license and related certifications
