PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Specialist Project Controls isResponsible for budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, and reporting Real Estate and Industrial Development performance metrics. Supports revenue, capital, and expense targets through project tracking, financial analysis, reporting, data management, and account reconciliation.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Monitor project, revenue, and agreement performance against budgets and forecasts

Identify, analyze, and report variances to targets and objectives

Support development of project budgets, schedules, and revenue plans

Maintain clear and accurate forecast and performance reporting

Manage SAP and BPC data entry and provide timely reporting support

Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations

Promote best practices in project controls, monitoring, and reporting

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Post-secondary education in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering,



or Project Managementis considered a strong asset

Minimum 5 years of combined experiencein one or more of the following areas: financial planning, accounting, engineering, project management, project controls, construction, and railway operations

Strong negotiation and conflict management skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and align on common objectives

Knowledge of financial analysis, including investment returns, commercial terms, operating margins, accounting reconciliation, and investment evaluation

Proficiency in SAP, BPC, and Excel, including accurate data entry, data queries, and analysis of large data sets

Experience with project scoping, planning, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and portfolio execution

Ability to set priorities, manage deadlines, and deliver work efficiently and effectivelyin a dynamic environment

Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
