About the Role Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Scientist to join their Pharmaceutical Development team in Kimberley . This critical role focuses on the formulation development of new drug products, ensuring their safety, efficacy, and stability. You will lead formulation strategies, design and execute pre-formulation and formulation studies, and contribute to the overall drug development process. This is an excellent opportunity for a scientist with a solid background in pharmaceutics to make a significant impact on bringing new therapies to patients within a dynamic R&D; environment in the Northern Cape .
Key Responsibilities Lead the design and execution of pre-formulation studies, including solubility, stability, and compatibility assessments.
Develop robust formulations for various dosage forms (e.g., oral solids, injectables) utilizing appropriate excipients and technologies.
Plan and conduct formulation development experiments, process optimization, and scale-up activities.
Characterize drug product performance using relevant analytical techniques.
Prepare comprehensive development reports and contribute to regulatory submission documents.
Collaborate closely with analytical,



manufacturing, and regulatory affairs teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Requirements Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
In-depth knowledge of drug delivery systems, formulation science, and relevant regulatory guidelines.
Proficiency with analytical techniques used for characterization of drug substances and drug products.
Proven ability to design and execute complex experiments and interpret results.
Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
