Christ The Redeemer (CTR) Catholic Schools serves approximately 10 000 students, 500 teachers and 250 support staff in southern Alberta. Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools provides an authentic Catholic education to students in traditional schools in Canmore, Brooks, Drumheller, High River, Okotoks, Oyen and Strathmore and Online Schooling and Shared Responsibility Programs to students all over Alberta and around the world.
CTR Catholic invites applications for the position of Director of Educational Spaces and Planning. Reporting to the Associate Superintendent, this role focuses on ensuring that classroom environments, school facilities, and learning spaces effectively support teaching, curriculum delivery, and student success in all school communities. The successful candidate will bring a strong background in school leadership, operations, and planning, ensuring that school infrastructure aligns with the educational and faith-based mission of CTR Catholic. This is a full time position based out of Okotoks and will require travel to all CTR Catholic schools.
Key Responsibilities:
Educational Space Planning: Ensure schools and classrooms are optimized for student learning and curriculum delivery.
Collaboration with School Leadership: Work closely with administrators to assess and design effective learning environments that support pedagogy, technology integration, and student engagement.
School Operational Considerations: Align school operations and instructional design to align with student programming.
Strategic Facility Planning: Oversee the long-term development of learning spaces, ensuring schools are equipped to support changing enrollment trends,
program expansions, and inclusive education initiatives.
Operations and Maintenance Leadership: Lead the Operations and Maintenance and Custodial teams, ensuring school facilities are safe, well-maintained, and conducive to high-quality learning.
Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Work collaboratively with Senior Administration to develop strategic budgets for furniture, equipment, capital projects, renovations, and infrastructure maintenance.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure learning environments adhere to educational, health, and safety standards, including Alberta Education guidelines, building codes, and accessibility requirements.
Faith-Based Learning Environments: Ensure that school spaces reflect the Catholic identity of CTR Catholic, fostering faith-filled, welcoming, and inclusive environments for students and staff.
Relationship Building and Communication: The ideal candidate will possess robust decision-making, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with both centralized teams and school-based leaders and staff.
This position requires a Bachelor of Education and is outside of any collective agreements and may require membership in a professional organization. School-based administrative experience and/or industry experience at a senior leadership level would be considered an asset.
