The Role:
Our site in Torontois seeking aSenior Manager,Manufacturing Engineeringto join our team.The personwill beresponsible for leading and managing the manufacturing engineering function within a chemical plant environment. This role overseestechnical manufacturing operations,continuous improvement initiatives, and site technical operationswhile ensuring safe, productive, and cost-effective production operations.

The positionownsthe successfultechnicalmanufacturingof specialty chemicalsand ensures alignment between engineering, operations, and business objectives. The Senior Manager will lead a team of manufacturing engineersas well asa facilities engineer toprovide technical and strategic direction,ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.

What You’ll Do:
Leadership & Team Management

Lead, coach, and develop a team of manufacturing engineers to build a high-performing organization

Manage facilities engineering andthe maintenance team

Manage hiring, training, performance evaluations, and career development of engineeringand facilitiesstaff

Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Manufacturing & Process Engineering

Oversee processsafety and processoptimization for chemical manufacturing processes

Identify and implement improvements in cost, quality, safety, and delivery performance

Support plant operations through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of best practices

Establish and monitor KPIs related to safety, quality, yield, and operational efficiency

New Product Introduction (NPI) & Project Management

Supportthe transition of new products fromdevelopmentinto full-scale manufacturing





Oversee multiple engineering and capital projects, ensuring delivery on schedule, scope, and budget

Develop and execute project plans, including resource allocation and risk management

Monitor financial performance of projects and manage expenditures against budget

Drive continuous improvement of engineering and project management processes

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Act as a key interface between engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality, R&D;, and commercial teams

Provide technical leadership and strategic input to business unit initiatives

Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to solve technical challenges and enhance product performance

Strategy & Continuous Improvement

Develop and execute engineering strategies aligned with business goals

Implement best practices in process design, DOE, and process optimization

Drive innovation in manufacturing technologies and methods

Support capital planning, equipment investments, and facility improvements

What We Seek:

Bachelor's orgraduatedegree in Chemical Engineering or related field

8-12+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing or process engineering

4+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams

Experience with new product introduction, process scale-up, and manufacturing integration

Significant experiencein process safety management.

Familiarity with DCS/SCADA systems.

Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional projects

Strong leadership and team development skills





Deep technical expertise in chemical processes and manufacturing operations

Project management and program leadership capabilities

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Financial acumen and budget management experience

Continuous improvement mindset (Lean, Six Sigma principles preferred)

Compensation: $145,000-$170,000 CAD range with actual pay based on candidate experience
