Job InformationJob Title:AuditorRequisition ID:82625Ministry:Assisted Living and Social ServicesLocation:EdmontonEmployment Type:Full Time, Temporary – 1 yearHours:36.25 hours per weekClassification:Auditor Level 2 (512AUA)Salary:$2,977.79 to $4,089.48 bi‑weekly ($77,720 to $106,735 per year)Closing Date:June 10, 2026About the MinistryAssisted Living and Social Services (ALSS) provides supports for seniors, families, and communities, and helps Albertans access disability services, continuing care, financial supports, affordable housing, services for the homeless, and other social-based programs.Role OverviewOperating as a member of the Ministry Audit Services team and reporting to the Audit Supervisor, the Auditor conducts independent assessments on the Ministry’s risk management, governance, financial, operational, and internal control processes to determine effectiveness and plans and executes audit projects in accordance with professional auditing standards.Key ResponsibilitiesRisk analysis and audit planning based on identified priorities.Planning, conducting, documenting, and reporting audit engagements.Communicating with audit clients and management.Ensuring audit engagements are executed effectively, efficiently, and timely.Required QualificationsUniversity graduation in Business, Commerce, Accounting, or Finance and eligibility for enrollment in an accounting program leading to a CPA designation, plus two years of auditing experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, provided the candidate is enrolled in a recognized accounting designation program.Knowledge of internal auditing and accounting standards, principles, and best practices including internal control practices, risk analysis, organizational theory, management concepts, finance, economics,
