Become a key part of the security team at the Ladysmith RCMP Detachment as a Detention Guard. Monitor the safety of persons in custody while enjoying structured or adaptable shifts across Vancouver Island and Yukon.

This position under the direction of the RCMP Officer involves monitoring prisoners' well-being. Responsibilities include observing activity, maintaining cleanliness, and recording logs. You will assist with meals and medications, ensuring compliance with security protocols while gaining valuable experience in a not-for-profit setting.

Key Responsibilities:
• Observe and check prisoners using CCTV
• Organize meals and maintain activity logs
• Conduct cell searches and ensure cleanliness
• Monitor fire safety and compliance with orders
• Dispense approved medications with supervision

Requirements:
• Valid Occupational First Aid level 1 certification
• Capability to obtain RCMP Reliability Clearance
• Basic computer skills and English proficiency
• Ability to work independently and control challenging situations
• Willingness to undergo required training
