Become a part of UAB's Engelhardt laboratory as a Temporary Research Assistant, dedicated to animal care and experimental support in a full time capacity.

This role is vital in providing daily care for research animals, monitoring their health, and assisting with lab protocols. You will maintain accurate care records, comply with institutional guidelines, and work collaboratively with lab staff. This opportunity not only supports research but also builds your experience in animal husbandry and laboratory procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
• Feed, dose, and maintain research animals daily
• Monitor animal health and report any issues
• Maintain records of animal care and conditions
• Assist in sample collection and routine tests




• Support lab operations including experiment preparations

Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred)
• Experience with animal husbandry in a lab or veterinary setting
• Capable of handling physically demanding tasks
• Strong attention to detail and dependability
• Collaborative and independent work skills

Engage in impactful animal research while honing essential laboratory skills at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
