Reporting to Executive Director of the Whistler Multicultural Society (WMS), the Program Coordinator actively works to build greater equity, diversity and inclusion in Sea to Sky communities. Offers full time hours, a flexible schedule with option to work from home and wage in the range of $26 to $28 per hour depending on experience.

SCHEDULE Roughly 30 hours per week, permanent-equivalent full-time schedule.
Flexible working hours with opportunities to work from home.
Term: September 2026 to September 2027 (Approx. 12-month maternity leave coverage with potential for extension)
WAGE & BENEFITS $26 to $28 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
Vacation pay (4%) and paid statutory holidays

THE PERFECT CANDIDATE While prior experience coordinating community programs is valued, we encourage anyone with a strong drive to build a more welcoming, equitable Whistler to apply.
1 to 3 years of experience in program coordination, volunteer management, or social services within a non-profit setting is beneficial.
Understanding of the unique barriers faced by Temporary Foreign Workers, working holiday visa holders, and international students in resort economies (e.g., housing precarity, transit limitations, and workplace rights).
Strong administrative, organizational, and database management skills.
High digital literacy, including experience moderating messaging networks (like WhatsApp) and managing social media or shared drives.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build trust and resolve conflicts within diverse, multicultural communities.
Fluency in written and spoken English is required; multilingual capabilities (especially in Spanish, Tagalog, French, or Japanese) are highly valued based on our newcomer demographic assessments.




Must be willing and able to travel occasionally across the Squamish-Whistler-Pemberton corridor (access to a reliable vehicle is an asset).
A clear Criminal Record Check for vulnerable populations is a mandatory condition of employment (WMS will reimburse the processing cost).
RESPONSIBILITIES Focus on delivering high-impact, low-barrier programs to Whistlers newcomer and immigrant community.
Plan and facilitate social events, group activities, workshops etc. to provide leadership, cultural,
and mentorship training as well as volunteer opportunities.
Community Orientations & Library Partnership Support: Schedule, promote, and document
WMS’s monthly “Welcome to Whistler” survival orientations.
Coordinate with our public library partner to utilize library spaces.

Multicultural Community Kitchen (MCK) Logistics: Manage the planning, food sourcing, and
coordination for the monthly MCK dinners.
Collaborate with volunteers and local venues to ensure these events function smoothly.
OMF Compliance, Data Collection & Database Entry: Collect, organize, and enter participant
feedback forms, volunteer timesheets, and partnership data.
Ensure strict adherence to the Social Support Outcomes Measurement Framework (OMF), monitoring key performance metrics to produce audit-ready reports for major institutional funders.
Workflow Alignment & Operational Support: Maintain proactive, daily internal communication
with WMS staff to align program decisions.
Assist the Program Manager with administrative and promotional tasks.
