The Salvation Army seeks a dedicated Cook to join their kitchen team. With a commitment to serving the community, you will prepare meals according to Canada's Food Guide, manage food safety practices, and minimize waste. Your culinary skills will impact the lives of those in need while adhering to regulations and fostering a positive kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals aligned with dietary guidelines
• Ensure adherence to food safety practices
• Manage inventory and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen
• Record food temperatures and label storage items correctly
• Train and mentor current kitchen staff and volunteers
Requirements:
• One year experience in an industrial kitchen
• Red Seal Certification in food services required
• Food Safe Level 1 certification required
• Fluent in English with excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to lift items up to 30 pounds
