Transform lives as a Mindfulness Martial Arts Instructor at the Child Development Institute! Use martial arts and mindfulness to positively influence children and youth, ages 9 to 18.
We are looking for two instructors to join our Therapeutic Recreation Programs team. Engage in helping young participants develop resilience through martial arts practices, combining emotional regulation strategies with physical activity. You will collaborate to plan sessions that meet the unique needs of each child while ensuring a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver martial arts and training components effectively
• Work with co-instructors to create engaging lesson plans
• Ensure safety and accessibility during all activities
• Assess and mitigate risks throughout sessions
• Maintain documentation regarding clients' progress and concerns
Requirements:
• Experience in martial arts like Kickboxing or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
• Knowledge of therapeutic programs for children and youth
• Robust emotional regulation and communication skills
• Flexible evening availability for classes at 46 St. Clair Gardens
• Completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check required
