This position is responsible for day-to-day Lugger Truck Operation. May also be required to operate other clutch driven equipment as well as perform additional support services such as material handling and yard maintenance duties. All work is performed in a steel mill environment and will be worked as12 hour rotating shifts .Duties include but are not limited to:Safely operate a lugger truck to transport scrap metal, slag bins, and other materials throughout the steel millPick up, secure, transport, and dump bins using lugger arms and related hydraulic systemsPerform routine inspections of the truck, including brakes, hydraulics, tires, and safety equipmentOperate a standard transmission vehicle confidently and safelyReport equipment issues, hazards, or irregularities promptlyKnowledge of air brake systems for proper handling and maintenanceAssist with staging, organizing, and positioning scrap bins and containers around the facilityService a high-demand production customer with reliability and efficiencyGood communication skills for coordinating with supervisor and customersUnderstand and follow the customer’s schedule to ensure timely operationsStrong attention to safety protocols and compliance with regulationsAbility to work independently and adapt to changing priorities*This position is for an open vacancy with a training rate of $32.23 per hour and then $34.23 per hour.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.1 - 3 years’ experience operating clutch driven trucks1-3 years' experience operating heavy equipment such as front-end loadersValid Driver’s licenseAbility to do manual labor in an outdoor workplace that may include elevated areas and extreme weather conditions.Good communications skills, and the ability to read operating instructions.Proactive in SAFETY and works well in a team environment.Willing to submit to background check and drug screenBenefitsWe offer competitive benefits, including health insurance, life insurance and disability plans, as well as a 401k with company matching.Equal Opportunity EmployerHarsco is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
