About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain their critical database systems in Kimberley. This role is crucial for ensuring the integrity, performance, and availability of all databases that support business operations. You will be responsible for database installation, configuration, patching, performance tuning, backup, and recovery strategies. This position requires a deep understanding of database management principles and technologies, ensuring that data is secure, accessible, and optimized for efficient use. Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database server software. Monitor database performance, identify and resolve performance issues, and tune databases for optimal efficiency. Implement and manage robust backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability. Ensure the security of databases through access control, encryption, and regular security audits. Develop and maintain SQL scripts for data manipulation and management tasks. Collaborate with development teams to optimize database queries and ensure efficient data access.



Plan and execute database capacity management and disaster recovery strategies. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator. Proven experience with major database systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL. Strong knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, or PL/SQL. Experience with database performance tuning, backup, and recovery techniques. Understanding of database security principles and best practices. Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Benefits
