Drive community collaboration as the St. Thomas-Elgin Local Immigration Partnership Manager at YWCA. Focus on fostering welcoming environments and enhancing support for newcomers.
This full time role is vital for developing strategies that increase community capacity for collaboration and support for immigrants in Elgin County. The STELIP Manager will lead initiatives addressing barriers and creating resources, while also overseeing communications and community events. Working closely with diverse stakeholders ensures that newcomers have equitable access to services and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop the St. Thomas-Elgin Immigrant Partnership Council
• Revisit governance and revise as necessary
• Represent STELIP at community advocacy events
• Identify and address systemic barriers facing newcomers
• Plan and facilitate community networking events
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in relevant fields
• Knowledge of immigration and social policies
• Strong communication and public speaking skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
