GIS Intern,Castlegar & Grand Forks, British Columbia

If you enjoycombining outdoor fieldwork with mapping, data, and technology, this internshipoffers a varied look at how information collected in the forest supports planningand responsible forestry decisions.

This is an on-siteinternship withan anticipatedstart date in May.Ideally,you’llbe available for a 4- to 8-month term.

Salaries starting from $3,350 per month (based on your year in school and previous experience).
Temporary living allowance forinterns moving to the area for the role.
What You’ll Do
Gain hands-on experience supporting sustainable forest management through both fieldwork and GIS technology.
Collect, analyze, and interpret forestry data using GPS, mapping tools, and industry software.
Explore how silviculture, spatial data, and technology work together to support forestry operations.
Contribute to projects that improve data quality, operational efficiency, and forest planning.
Build technical, analytical,



and problem-solving skills while working alongside experienced forestry professionals.

What You Offer
You are working toward a degree or diploma in Forestry, GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related program.
You are interested in building experience across both silviculture fieldwork and GIS work.
You have experience with Microsoft Excel and exposure to GIS or GPS tools such as ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, or similar technology.
You have a valid driver’s licence and are prepared to spend time outdoors in a forested environment and travel over uneven terrain.
You can collect, review, and communicate information clearly and accurately.
You are comfortable working independently and collaborating with employees, clients, and contractors.
