Join Nova Scotia Health as a Recreation Therapy Associate, where you’ll provide therapeutic support to clients in a team environment while addressing their leisure needs.
This full-time, temporary role, based in the Eastern Zone at Taigh Na Mara, involves developing and implementing recreation programs tailored to individual and group needs. You will work under the guidance of the Resident Care Manager, collaborating with therapists to support clients and families in various settings. Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, is required to meet the diverse needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in planning and implementing recreation programs
• Support clients and families through recreation interventions
• Practice according to defined employment standards
• Adapt programs to meet changing client needs
• Maintain effective communication with healthcare team members
Requirements:
• Post-secondary diploma in Therapeutic Recreation
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities
• BLS - C certification
• Robust listening and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changes
