Assume a vital role as a Prevention and Diversion Worker at The Salvation Army, offering critical services for those at imminent risk of homelessness. This full time position requires strong organizational and communication skills.
In this role, you will respond to calls on the shelter support line, book beds, and assist individuals and families to find appropriate housing solutions. You will also document daily activities and liaise with various agencies to facilitate essential support for clients experiencing housing instability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Respond to inquiries on the shelter support line
• Implement strategies to prevent homelessness effectively
• Fill out and maintain comprehensive intake forms
• Regularly communicate with shelters and service providers
• Ensure safety and support for clients at the shelter
Requirements:
• Completed high school with specialized training in social services
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and Excel spreadsheets
• Familiarity with regional housing supports in PEI
• Minimum three months in frontline social service roles
• Current First Aid/CPR certification is mandatory
