Position Overview
Rockport Commercial Inc. is expanding! With a robust pipeline of new multi-family and commercial developments launching across Winnipeg, we are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to join our growing field leadership team. You will be joining an established site operations crew that currently includes 2 active Site Supervisors and our dedicated Project Management team.
Rockport operates on a highly unique, vertically integrated model: the vast majority of our trades—including Excavation, Concrete, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Drywall, and Laborers—are internal divisions led by their own dedicated Trade Managers and Foremen. As a Site Supervisor, you are the master coordinator on site. You will collaborate directly with our internal Trade Foremen and select external subcontractors to ensure seamless sequencing, elite site safety, and maximum daily productivity.
Why Work with Rockport? (Company Perks)
- Consistent, Year-Round Work: Forget the seasonal layoffs. Because we control our own development pipeline and self-perform our trades, we provide steady, stable, year-round employment.
- Expanding Team & Pipeline: Secure long-term career stability with a massive pipeline of incoming projects and an established, supportive peer network of field supervisors.
- Comprehensive health and vision perks package.
- Competitive salary based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- On-Site Orchestration:
Direct and sequence daily field operations by coordinating closely with internal Trade Foremen and external trades.
- Master Schedule Enforcement: Ensure all internal trade divisions hit their micro-milestones to keep the master Winnipeg project timeline on track.
- Site Safety & Culture: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site, enforcing Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health regulations across all internal crews and external partners.
- Conflict & Sequencing Resolution: Resolve spatial or scheduling conflicts between divisions on site (e.g., coordinating MEP rough-ins with drywall and framing timelines).
- Material & Equipment Logistics: Manage shared site resources, including heavy equipment utilization (excavation/concrete), laydown areas, and shared material hoisting.
- Daily Reporting: Maintain precise daily site logs tracking overall progress, weather impacts, and inter-trade handoffs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Site Supervisor on multi-family or commercial construction sites.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to manage, respect, and collaborate with independent Trade Foremen and Managers.
- Comprehensive understanding of multi-trade sequencing (from excavation and structural concrete through to MEP rough-ins and finishes).
- Sharp blueprint reading skills across architectural, structural, and mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) drawings.
- Resiliency to lead teams through year-round Winnipeg weather conditions.
