Support and uplift residents as a Wellness Assistant at The Emerald. Participate in diverse activities including arts, music, and fitness to foster a sense of belonging.

In this role, you will assist the Wellness Coordinator by conducting activation programs tailored to resident needs and preferences. Candidates should have completed a recognized Therapeutic Recreation Program and have recent experience in long-term care.

Your focus will be on enhancing cognitive and social abilities of residents through engaging programs and supportive interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Facilitate music, cooking, and gardening activities
- Transfer and assist residents safely during events
- Provide and manage assistive devices for residents
- Advertise and engage community participation
- Track and report residents’ cognitive and functional status

Requirements:

- Minimum two-year Therapeutic Recreation Program
- Two years of related experience preferred
- Valid Class 4 vehicle license, an asset
- First Aid/CPR certification current
- Preferred training in programs for dementia
