When you volunteer at the Canadian Cancer Society you have real impact. It takes all of us to take on cancer. Volunteer with us at one of our signature events in your community on event day. You can choose a specific role and shift(s) based on availability. You can also assist us when we need event support on an on-call basis in your own community.

WHY WE NEED YOU

At the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS), we believe that behind every successful event is an exceptional team of volunteers.

The Grand Chefs Gala, one of our signature fundraising events, will take place on September 29, 2025, at the Paddock Space in Parc Jean-Drapeau. To help ensure the smooth transportation of our volunteers, we are looking for two volunteer drivers who will play an essential role in the success of the evening.

As a volunteer driver, you will help create a positive experience for more than 50 volunteers by providing safe transportation between the nearest metro station and the event venue. You'll also have the unique opportunity to drive a Canadian Cancer Society minivan on the legendary Gilles-Villeneuve Formula 1 circuit.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

As a volunteer driver for the Grand Chefs Gala, you will be responsible for:

- Driving a Canadian Cancer Society minivan between the designated metro station and the Paddock Space at Parc Jean-Drapeau.




- Making multiple shuttle trips to transport more than 50 volunteers before, during, and after the event.
- Greeting volunteers in a warm and professional manner.
- Ensuring passenger safety at all times and following safe driving practices.
- Working closely with the event team to ensure smooth transportation logistics.
- Representing the Canadian Cancer Society positively with volunteers and members of the public.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You enjoy driving, are reliable and punctual, and like interacting with people. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced event environment and understand the importance of safety and customer service. Most importantly, you are excited to contribute to the success of an significant cause.

To be eligible for this role, you must:

- Hold a valid driver's license.
- Have a satisfactory driving record.
- Be comfortable driving a minivan.
- Be able to communicate effectively with volunteers and event team members.
