Tri-Star Technical is a Winnipeg based company, which specializes in voice, data, fiber optic, security, audio, video cabling services and the design and implementation of wireless network systems. We are presently seeking personnel to fill the following position;

Voice/ Data/ Fiber Structured Cabling Technician

Responsibilities:

· Installation, termination and testing of telecommunication cabling

· Troubleshooting, repairing and servicing of installed telecommunication cabling

· Install network racks and cabinets

· Interpret and execute blue prints and construction drawings, work orders, and special requirements

· Be customer oriented and provide qualified customer service when fulfilling customer requests

· Report and update project managers on state of projects

· Complete detailed and accurate paperwork as required

· Be creative, adaptable, and flexible in problem solving and completing tasks

· May be required to work evenings, weekends, and overtime

· May be required to travel





Required Qualifications:

· A valid Voice Data Video “M” Class license

Experience installing data, voice, security and video cabling

· Ability to install and test multimode and single-mode fiber optic cables, complete mechanical and fusion splicing

· A valid Manitoba driver’s license with access to a vehicle

· Commitment to following safe work practices

· Excellent verbal and written communication

· Ability to read and interpret blue prints/construction drawings and technical manuals

· Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces

· Strong organization skills

· Ability to work alone and as part of a team

· Must be physically fit including the ability to lift heavy objects

· Knowledge of industry standards

· Clean criminal record and background check

Desired Skills:

· First aid training

· Experience in access control systems, CCTV systems, network and computer installation and troubleshooting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.40-$30.00 per hour
